If your teen already smokes and is trying to stop, be prepared for cravings. Remind your teen that if he or she can hold out long enough the nicotine craving will pass. Suggest deep breathing or offer sugarless gum, toothpicks and cinnamon sticks to help your teen keep his or her mouth busy.
